Carlsbad Surf

Post by HeroIzuku »

Does anyone have any links for Surf Fishing Carlsbad? Tried a bunch of methods and have only been successful with sand crabs on Carolina Rig. Any lures I should try?

I was out there a couple weeks ago and saw some guy catch a legal halibut on a Lucky craft sardine. I was able to catch a couple small perch on sandcrab flies. I was fishing north Carlsbad north of the power plant

Swim baits and lucky crafts are fun to use but the don’t call them 1000 casts lures for nothing. Gotta find the right structures and pockets. If you have heavier rods using cut bait is fun, you can catch a lot of random things.

Yep the Berkely sandwork in the small 2- 3 inch size on the same carolina rig. Catches everything thats in the surf and eating. Also a smaller chrome or chrome and blue kastmaster works.
