San V 1/11

Post by Moose »

Better day today than Monday. Day started out rainy and windy so I pulled out the spinnerbait and about 10min in I got my biggest of the day, a 3.01. That was it for any reaction bites so I picked up the dropshot and headed out deep, 40-60ft. Ended the day with 11 in the boat with at least that many missed bites and 6 break offs in the bushes. 4 times today I got fish on back to back drops. Nothing big but had 4 over 2lbs. Fun day overall.

Basically right now if you go deep and drop in enough bushes you will get some little football bass. Looking forward to them moving shallow in a month or so!

Why the heck do my pics load upside down sometimes?? 🤷🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

First of all nice job out there Moose. Catching bass in the winter is always rewarding.
And always fun to see your fish reports and pics.
Speaking of pics.......I fixed your original pics and if you go to these sites posted on SDFish, it might help you with future pics
that are sideways or upside down.
I posted this one that may help

or in the Announcements, Support and Feedback area there is this one that may be more helpful.

Thank you sir! Hadn’t seen those posts. Hopefully I won’t have to rely on your expertise to fix my pics in the future. 👍😁

Dropshotting in 40'-60' in the bushes is a tough way to make a living.....! Are you seeing the fish or just covering those depths? 11 fish, a nice winter day

Surprisingly I didn’t this time. I tried to fight them a little longer and bring them up slower and it seemed to work

Kind of both. Definitely using my electronics to locate the bushes as well as bait and fish, but also blind casting around those depths as well. Most of the bites I got were dropping to fish I was seeing. Bites I got by casting were when the bait would come up against a bush or tree. I was only able to get one of those out of the bush, the rest ended up as break offs.
