Murray, but decided to hit the SD river this morning. Again, I never seem to get anywhere early as it was about 7:45 when I finally got on
the water. Did not throw reaction baits too long due to my late arrival even though I lost a small bass on a crank bait. I then started working and flipping plastic worms and an assortment of craw and creature baits. Sorry if this post sounds familiar as in my other river posts, but it is a pattern that I use often. Anyway, after a bit, I picked up a very small bass on a 6" plastic worm, and then another small bass on a Senko. Fishing the the river can be very tough at times so any bite or any bass no matter how small is a good bass. I flipped a Brush hog deep into some cover and landed a little healthier bass which was tough at first getting him out of some underwater branches. Later I started flipping a crawbait and noticed that my line went slack right after the bait hit the water about a foot from shore. I reeled in the slack and saw that the line was coming towards me. I set the hook and the fight was on as the bass jumped 3 times and I knew it was a nice one, but finally landed it and it went 6 lbs on the button. I was totally jazzed I landed that bass and the 3 others this morning and was able to get this fishing trip in.... as it was just what I needed.
Tight lines to everyone!
