Huntington Beach 5-1-22

Post by Midnightpass »

A no-fish report… Got plenty of sand crabs at the depot, then headed to Huntington… Pretty flat, with no visible structure… There was a shallow trench almost dry that would fill and maybe be fishable at high tide… Only fished from 6:30-8:30 for not a single nibble.. talked to a few other anglers and no bites for them either.. There were small patches of sand crabs showing up and down the beach… Maybe someday I’ll remember how to fish again. ….

Sounds familiar Butch except you're at least finding sc's. Still just micro bb's on SD beaches when I've been out. Don't know if anyone else is finding them. Very poor month, skunk sessions or, at best, just dinks. Some hali's have been taken by those putting in a lot of time and shore pounding to find them. This time last year water was 3-4 degrees cooler at 60-61 with crab beds appearing & non perch species showing. Here's hoping the crabs show soon to get things going. ;)

You guys need to get on the ball and get things warmed up for me... Time's-a-wastin'... It won't be but a few weeks before I'm poaching your fish off of your beaches... Or at least trying to. ;) ....

I haven't seen any up and down Mission Beach, Bill, though I haven't ventured as far north as the pier in a bit. Extremely low morning tides have kept me away from the beach this past week and a half. And then neap tides/Mother's Day next weekend.

Should be full speed ahead by Memorial Day weekend, @Midnightpass Butch!

Worst case scenario, just drop your line from the pier and we'll clip something to it

jwacky…I’ve been on forums for many years, and I’ve never done the notification thing like you did to me.. I tried above, but as you can see it didn’t work… How do you do it?…. Remember, I’m a dumb old man.

Yea, but I want a real fish, not one of those plastic ones…

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Start by typing the "@" symbol, then the user name. Seems to work better for me on the web, as opposed to the phone. But again, it doesn't seem to work consistently.

Ok, that’s what I did… But it was on an IPad… So maybe it’s the same issue as with the phone.. Thought it was just my old dumb self. ;)
