Mission Bay 12/04
6:30 to 9:30. Caught 11 perch. All good size. They were hitting the bait hard today. All around 11 to 13 inches. I cast out my bait and noticed I had a wind knot. So as I was untangling it all I could think about was my leader getting tangled. Then a Perch took my bait. So I was on tangling my line with a fish on .All work out ok.. King tide is not that bad to fish. Kind of fun.

Nice!! Cool that you got out there to experience it and caught some fish, too! I still am not planning on fishing the king tides this weekend but who knows... maybe I'll go check it out and bring a pole "just in case", haha. Looks like the waves were small, which surely helped keep things relatively calm.
Been watching the tide on webcams throughout the day, which has been fun: https://waterbarsd.com/surf-cam/

It was not bad. You just could not take your eyes off the water, because Every once in awhile a Powerful wave would come up. But once the tide started to go out, I was out in the water up to my knees.jwacky wrote: Thu Dec 04, 2025 2:24 pm Nice!! Cool that you got out there to experience it and caught some fish, too! Quality perch.. Glad the king tides worked for you.. They were predicting some surf along with the tides up here in OC/LA so I didn't go out... Maybe I should have...

The big waves were out farther. But once in a while you get a rogue wave. But I had a lot of shoreline. Just couldn't take your eyes off the waterMidnightpass wrote: Fri Dec 05, 2025 8:09 am Quality perch.. Glad the king tides worked for you..
