This late season corbina ate a crab right at the edge of the sandy brown water. Good news is they are still around.

Hi Butch. Yes, still using sand crabs although finding soft shells has been *very* challenging. This guy bit a medium sized, ordinary hardshell. I was actually targeting croaker while sifting each wave looking for a soft shell to toss close for corbina. Translation... I got lucky

Very nice. I was seeing a little movement in the water down here last weekend thinking there might be something a bit bigger than perch swimming around but no takers. And congrats on finding the crab, that might be more impressive than the corbina lately

Nice late season bean there bud. Crabs pretty much history on our SD beaches. No beds and blind digging might get a few hard shells but no roe. Alternative baits . . . mussel, clam, worms & ghosties bait de jour now. Gulp camo & sand worms are getting good action, lot of perch being taken on them.
