Father’s Day 2025 and the Bass Were Gifting!

Post by JWall »

Got on the water at 4:45 and headed out on an absolutely perfect temp morning and lake surface. The bass were taking care of us fathers with a healthy bite until we left. Our usual rocky spots in Hauser were biting the pumpkin/pumpkin jigs hard, with us lipping 50 healthy models by 8am. Things slowed a bit to just a pick there so we decided to make a move into the main arm. The pick continued there and then while moving across the lake to the other side we encountered the first wolfpack of our season. It was the cherry on the Father’s Day cake chasing them around and adding feisty schoolies to our counts. Every pole and lure we prepped overnight caught fish with the jig n craw the king. The minnow did the job on the busters, and MM roboworms and baby brush hogs accounted for the balance. Off the water at noon with 80 total! (55 to 25 yours truly 😉)

Not shallow, I would guess 10-20ft, a fair distance from shore. It didn’t seem to us there was much happening along the shore but we did leave at noon. Some are reporting the topwater is coming later in the day.

Very very nice!
Sounds like you had a super fishing day on Father’s Day. It’s so much fun when the bass are on the chew and it must have been a blast. Thank you so much for sharing and your facial expressions in the pics tell the whole story.
Tight lines always :-)

The facial expression when you dork out and lose your big bass of the day at the side of the boat 😂😂
