A little North - Newport Bay

Post by Bendo »

I have been teaching some Bass Fishing 101 to a local neighborhood kid. He truely loves to fish! We started out fishing our local park lake and within a couple of weeks he was nailing Bass on his own. We practice knots, I show him how to work baits and basic rigging. Yesterday we went on his first Float Tubing Trip in Newport Harbor. The kid landed 11 in a quick 4 hour session, all on 1/4 Jighead with the barb pinched down, and a ZMan Streakz in Mud Minnow. Now I fear I’ve created a monster! His Dad says he was so happy he couldn’t stop talking about it.

Too cool. The day I realized that it can be more rewarding to help someone catch a fish than to catch one yourself, that was awesome.
