From Murray to Hodges 8/22 and 8/23
Went to Otay early on Saturday morning and there were like 100 boats lined up to enter. Some kinda tournament evidently. Since I didn't relish spending the day in a washing machine with bass boats zipping to and fro, so I pivoted and went to Murray instead. I mean I was already up and dressed for the occasion right?
I met up with @CorsoEnthusiast and @Dfishin who was there fishing with his son in law and his adorable grand daughters. Hey those little ladies can fish!
I did ok on the day with 5 decent bass and a handful of little ones, but the highlight was meeting friends and watching those girls catch fish.
Went to Hodges early Sunday morning and met up with Jeremy, Chris, Doug, and Tom...some really cool chaps I would have never got to know if it wasn't for this forum!
The day started slow but I finally found a few. My final count was 7. Jigs, Senkos and Ned rigs were my ticket today. I couldn't get them interested in anything that jerked, cranked, swam, etc ..
Fun day with excellent company.

Nice work!
Good to see you and Jeremy at Murray. In one of the pics you both are in the back ground.

Great job Dan. Good move making a positive fishing trip at Murray after finding out that Otay was slammed with a tournament. Looks like you also had fun fishing up at Hodges and you were in great company with some great guys at both lakes.

Hey was that you in the Maverick? I was parked behind you waiting to get into Hodges Sun am in the white car.
I shore pounded for only 1 3lber.

Murray was a lot of fun, got 3 including one on a crankbait even.
Hodges wasn't great fishing for me, I took the skunk, but I had a great time fishing and hanging out with everyone! Can't wait for the next one!

It was a fun day at Hodges and it is truly remarkable what a great group of people and knowledgable anglers they really are. Nice fishing with you Dan for the first time and I believe I may stock up on those skirted neds.

I love 'em and caught a lot of fish on 'em. (Which is undoubtedly the primary driver for why I love 'em lol). It was great meeting you Tom and really fun fishing with you.1Fishdude wrote: Mon Mar 24, 2025 4:08 pm It was a fun day at Hodges and it is truly remarkable what a great group of people and knowledgable anglers they really are.
