February 2025 Lower Owens Trip
Went fly fishing on the Lower Owens river just outside Bishop California last weekend. The weather was awesome and the fishing was great… caught some wild brown and rainbow trout up to 15” long using a euro nymphing technique. The hot fly was a size 14 light brown thread frenchy with a pink 3.5 mm tungsten metallic bead, brassie copper wire rib, and an orange thread hot spot. Can’t wait to go back but probably won’t be able to until October… tight lines amigos!!!

Eastern Sierras, my absolute favorite part of CA! My son and I do a trip every year. Already have this years trip mapped out.

Nice fish Josh, great report. I should have gone on the SDFF trip - they killed them this year.
