Re: Vail Lake
It's closed to fishing again. Been like that for about a year. They are using the excuse that the rain brought the lake level up to where areas of the shoreline are 'unsafe.'

Re: Vail Lake
I fished a Heroes on the water tournament there and came in third a few years back and it was tough until I cracked the code with 20 minutes left and then started slaying. Once I figured it out it was pretty good. Shortly after it got closed and I still haven't been able to redeem my free kayak fishing day and i'ts been like 6 years. The last I heard the road for the launch area was washed out then they opened to shore fishing but I guess it's closed again.

I think it was a jackal clone shad on a weedless jighead that had a willow blade soldered to the bottom. I'm not sure what the jighead was or if I even could find another one but I started pitching it at wood and letting it sink and wiggle on the way down and I'd get slammed.

Re: Vail Lake
Vail was a fun lake, kind of like fishing Lake Morena in the old days...another lake screwed up now!
