San V 12/28

My son and I hit San V today for one last trip before he heads back to Montana. After the bust that Murray was Tuesday I was looking forward to San V today.

No busters to speak of except for the occasional single in the bushes. We ended the day with 9 combined. Very happy to say my boy out fished ...

Re: Vail Lake

It's closed to fishing again. Been like that for about a year. They are using the excuse that the rain brought the lake level up to where areas of the shoreline are 'unsafe.'

Hot weather… hot bite?

Otay has been a lot of fun this summer. Bait is all over and those fish are hungry.

Spent the first 6.5 hours of the day down there this morning and it was a little of everything. Got a topwater fish before I even put my tube in the water. Pulled up to the bank and there were busters in the cove 6 ...

El Cap Sat 10/5

Been a minute since I had anything worth sharing. I’ve been hitting El Cap for the last few weeks and been killing the 6-10” bass! Shallow, 10-15ft, breaking fish, didn’t matter, almost everything I caught was still in diapers.

Two weeks ago I noticed that in the front of the lake the fish were ...

Hard work pays off

Well, honestly it is not that hard after all I am talking about walking along the bank of a small lake and casting...but it was hard to me. Been working at the Sulphur Creek Reservoir since my first trip saw a trout slaughtered by a bass. And for a long time I was skunked. Tried lots of different ...

Productive bait Murray 11/1

I found another versatile BFS bait that has been working well for me. Today I Caught several bass and bluegill on a Shimano World Crank 73F. The best bass was just over 4lbs.

It's an interesting bait, sort of a cross between a crank and jerk bait. It suspends so it can be worked like a jerk bait ...

Well...if you get only 1...

Like always, one is better than none. But today, I said "one more cast" like 15 times...even went to a different body of water. And then...what ends up being the last cast yields me the joy I am searching for. Heart pumping, forgot I was cold, saw that big mouth and got really worried I wouldn't be ...

Last Day of vacation... SUCCESS!

I found a pattern on Lake Mohave my last day here. I got on the water at 3 am, and immediately headed to rocky areas I identified yesterday. I was casting weedless craw baits on to the bank and bouncing them down steep rocky banks.

Ended the day at 11am with nine largemouth and one smallie. Most of ...

PB Mullet on a swimbait, SD River channel 12/27

Ran out to the MB jetty to make a few casts and ended with a few species mostly all on the weedless 4" white slim swimmer. Caught my first mullet ever, just after dark, thought maybe it was a baby corvina or a bonefish at first.

Macks were rolling through the jetty channel, and a couple baby ...

Found Rod and Reel - Crown Point

Guessing this is a bit of a longshot...but, I hope this message finds whoever lost it.

I was down at Crown Point for my sons rowing event on Sunday morning pretty early. Being a fisherman, I noticed a rod and reel laying face down in the sand near the finish line. After spending most of the day at ...

Coronado Cays 11/16

First time launching the float tube out of the Coronado Cays was an absolute blast. By 5:30am, another float tube and I were out on the water and right away the bite was on. I've heard people say they’ve had incredible days out in the South Bay with almost 100 bass caught but I didn’t really believe ...

Back bay 3/11

I had my third ever bay session Tuesday. Got there around 6:45am and fished until the windy stormy weather ran me off. Launched the canoe from J street marina and drifted toward the cays. Ended up with a mackerel, 5 spotties and a 21 or 22 inch corvina. I love the bay fishing, but it is a 6 hour ...

New Seaforth Twilight 6/23

Excited by the recent fishing reports, I booked a spot on the Twilight trip on New Seaforth. Captain mentioned occasional yellowtail catch on fly lined sardines as stick baits. On the way to the fishing grounds, captain already spotted yellowtail action, fish boiling on the surface. I was super ...

Did Turner's offer to help in any way? The way you have explained it, it sounds like their employee may have made a mistake.
