Fathers Day trifecta

Post by Jussdone805 »

My son and I got to the big bay around 615am. Started at the Bali Hai since I caught a nice Spottie there last time. Spent about 30 minutes and only managed to accidentally snag a baby grunt(?) at least I think it was, never caught one before and it was grunting like a pig. Moved over to the barge at Coasterra by about 7 and got thumped on my first cast, threw it back and got slammed by a decent Spottie. Those things fight like fish 5x their size! After nothing else, we went to Fisherman’s Landing where my son finally got his first Spottie. Since nothing was open yet, I dropped down a Reaper Slow Pitch jig from the Eppig Brewing deck and got walloped as soon as I hit bottom. Ended up with a short Hali which was my first ever here! The long range sport boats had just come in so we had fun looking at the stacks of tuna, sheepshead, and yellowtail being unloaded. All in all a nice Father’s Day and some fun fish! I’m totally sold on Submission Fishing jigs and Reaper Slow Pitch. I’ve caught more fish on them than anything else I have in my box! Sorry the pics are sideways, can’t figure that out.
