Re: Water got cold
This is even better than Solunar Tables for explaining why the bite was slow. Water was too cold or too warm. Now if I could just find a way to predict when the bite was going to be good instead of an excuse for a slow bite.

Re: fishing spot between Liberty Station park and Corvette diner
I've personally never done that well at LS, but I have seen others catch bonefish, corbina, angel sharks, and even white seabass. It's about 15 feet deep in the middle of the channel.

Re: Are cabeezon venomous?
Good point. True sculpins, such as cabezon, are from the Cottoidea family, whereas the California Scorpionfish is from the Scorpaenidae family.OOlicon wrote: Mon Oct 02, 2023 6:11 pm He's confused, it's a true sculpin, not a poisonous spiked scorpionfish.

Re: 11/27-Back to the SD River
I have my serious doubts about the salmon. I've only seen one pic, and it's poor quality. I would imagine it would have receive a lot of more attention if true. Heck, I saw dead carp a few months ago when O2 levels dropped.

Re: 11/27-Back to the SD River
I am going to sound like a negative Nancy here.....but here are some things in the WON story that to me seem strange.
He said he had only a 20 minute window to fish, before going to work. OK...yet there is a float tube there and it
just seems illogical to take that out, try to get it out ...

Re: 11/27-Back to the SD River
There's always some animal where it doesn't belong...flamingos and turtles in San Diego bay...
While I don't believe the salmon story because of my own experience and the lack of evidence provided, you're right in that stranger things have occurred. Sea turtles have been documented in the San ...

Pretty sure it's been like this since the beginning of fishing.Moose wrote: Fri Dec 01, 2023 3:32 pm Now a days it’s also the bummer about fishing, you never really know the true story unless you were there and there are too many bogus stories out there so everyone is very skeptical when stories like this pop up

Craig, what are your general tips on how you change your approach to fishing the bay during the Fall/Winter seasons vs. Spring/Summer?

Re: SD River-Dec. 5
Since I posted this story on the SD River, I was just curious if anyone has ventured out near the Old Mission Dam and caught any bass around
that area? I have net been down there for decades and just had to take a trip to look around. I did not walk around too much and the
water did not look too ...

Re: Why do I feel the need to fish a big swimbait?
To each their own. If you enjoy it, have the bankroll to support it, don't mind the low success rate, then do it. I started down that rabbit hole years ago, but didn't find success early enough and didn't have the disposable income for a proper rig and baits. It is pretty thrilling throwing a ...
