Re: Creek Wade 6/13

Beautiful spot. The bass in my local creek are also sluggish, but I managed a few on a babyfat minnow. I've also had success in the past on a Pat's rubber legs.

Re: Torrey Pines

I heard that there was wasn't much structure at TP last weekend. Blacks was good for me, though. Got into some perch, and a lot of sand crabs.

Re: Calico Bass along the reefs

I'd say you had a great June. Nicely done for sure & congrats.

Thanks that was my saltwater surf fishing report.

To add to the fun, I actually landed at least twice that many fish in freshwater from my kayak, mostly crappie. Three trips for crappie with limits (25) each day and plenty of ...

Re: Inline spinner advice....

Gotta agree here with Gotfish? , the PMs are the best inline spinners I've used. With the others, the blades always seem to get stuck, but the PM spins no matter what, and I believe it causes more vibrations.

This made me think about what's special about the blade design, and if there are any ...

Re: Tip of the day

Carry a small piece of rubber sheet, (cut up an old inner tube). Run it over leader line coils to straighten it out. Works like magic.

I have seen fly fishing stores sell a piece of rubber on a clip for a few dollars (LOL).

Another cool thing to do with those old bike inner tubes: cut a 4 ...

Re: Surf Fly Fishing

I keep it simple. If blind casting into structure, red worm-like flies (Krabby patty https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iplF2Q7Oo5I ). If sighting fishing beans, surfin merkin. I keep them small, size 6-8 hooks, small brass eyes.

You need a line with a fast sinking head (6ips) and intermediate ...

Re: 8/2-Back to Lake Miramar

Of all your posts, Miramar just seems bleh. Hard to believe that it once held some of the biggest bass ever caught.

Re: Tube n00b… recommendations!

I just wear swim trunks in the summer.

Having good fins (Forcefins) will increase your time on the water and reduce foot cramps.

Never tried a drill paddle, but I've never been in a spot where I needed to travel long distances.

Re: Dealerships don't want more...

My friends got a Ford EV and they get battery anxiety. Had an experience in East county where they ran low and the 2 nearest charging stations were booked or broken. They made it to a relative's house on sparks and had to leave their car there to charge up. Silly....
