Re: South SD bay 12/17

Hey Dann nice meeting up with you at the ramp. We also had a good day even after getting very lost in the fog and ending up at the cays. We nailed over 40 spotties and one confused halibut between both of us on my boat. It was the first time my neighbor ever experienced such a bite and had a great ...

Re: South SD bay 12/17

It is crazy how the fog can limit visibily even a couple hundred yards from shore. Been there. As for worrying about your gear, buy a Daiwa CC 80. Two minutes to rinse and will never rus

Re: Otay Sunday 12/17

I got a new BFS rod and reel this past month too, I need to get out there and try it. Maybe I'll head over to Otay, I have never fished it.

Nope, most lakes here are just a permit.

Except Morena. I couldn’t believe it. They charge the same price as a boat launch for the tube. Oh how times have changed….

Re: Probably an obvious answer but...

That’s relatively new. They used to never charge for tube launch. Or parking fee.

[email protected]

I just emailed them, can’t hurt… mentioned they are the only lake in the county (they are a different entity, sdparks) that charges a tube launch fee and that it’s the same price as a boat launch which doesn’t make any sense.

Re: Looking for a big boy tube

Hello Dannicus,
Received my FRM boards float tube and it is huge. Also attaching a trolling motor but trying to register at the DMV has been a royal pain. They want a serial number which I cannot find and trolling motor information. Have to go back next week and try again! Have you registered your ...

Re: Looking for a big boy tube

Thanks Dannicus,
After two tries I did get the float tube registered. Found a patient DMV worker that found a way to get all the right information needed to get it completed. Now going to work on getting the boaters card.

Re: Tube launch vs Kayak

I have flip up wheels mounted to my tube with a Bixpy underneath. I usually leave my tube inflated in the bed of my truck, but I fish 4-5 days per week on average. I spend more time sleeving rods and covering reels than I do with the tube itself. With my setup I can be unloaded and on the water in ...

Re: Tube launch vs Kayak

Usually 15-20 minutes. Like stated above I have my tube partially inflated, and I wear my waders and boots while I drive these days to save a few minutes and avoid holes in the bottoms of my waders. I have the thruster system pretty dialed in these days so that only takes a couple of minutes. Rods ...

Re: Zippered waders

I love my zippered waders! Absolute game changers. I found Paramount Outdoors over a year ago and the Deep Eddy Zippered Waders that I got from them are the best I have ever owned. After purchasing them I reached out to them telling them how much I loved them and let them know I make YouTube Videos ...

A browner shade of brown.....

South Bay Saturday.

Followed Gotfish around for a while on the Coronado side.

Managed 13 sbb, a short halibut, and the first one of these that I've got on a ScorcherZ tube bait (green).

And this one was much larger than any of the ones I've got on bait.

Best Float Tube Lakes

What’s up everyone,

I’m getting my first float in the next week or so. My buddy and I are going to Barrett but I’m new to tubing and was wondering what other lakes are recommended?

I’m willing to venture out of SD as well. Thanks!
