8/13 Tube

In line at 3:30 Dave and Chuck loaded and gone at Pigs. I take a while to pack the tube. Did my usual to get the skunk off before I set out, used my same texas rig from El Cap except no barb.. Lite wind already, headed across the lake. Topwater I had blow ups no solid hook ups, throwing the TR after ...

Re: 8/13 Tube

Nice report Dave.
Our decision to go back of Hauser was a good idea, we found them on top water. I was able to get them with the frog, a 4 and couple of 3s, popper , plopper also produced but some of the bass was paper thin!
That was the worst wind I’ve seen there, especially at 10am! Usually it’s ...

Re: 8/13 Tube

Top water would of been nice. I thought I could travel with out concern. I know better now, looking at options for a bigger TM. Tommy said he talked to you and Dave.
In the picture of you two, I could hear you guys talking, you should be fishing when Dave talks it's fish on.

Re: 8/13 Tube

Nice report Dave,

Like Chuck said our decision worked out yesterday. We stopped along the way at a couple spots and got lucky on the topwater. I always like to catch fish in the dark, it's more of surprise. The ones in rear Hauser were a bit skinny. This fish was 4 pounds 4 ounces with a 6 pound ...

Personal best (Sunday 8/31)

On the water with my two boys and a boat ticket just before 7am. Our confidence spots were not hitting as hard as they have been over the past few weeks. Stayed in the main lake until we picked up a buddy at 9am. I focused on various top water approaches — flukes and small poppers produced the best ...

Re: BFS forum

Dan, I had first hand experience watching you catch bass after bass after bass using your BFS gear. When you showed me the baits and equipment you use it was pretty amazing to me. Here I have everything that’s heavy, extra heavy, or mag heavy but you’re living proof that you don’t need all that to ...

Re: Bfs bass at otay

Haven’t been to Otay in ages was one of my favorite lakes back in the 80’s along with Hodges, we used to kill it in Harvey’s arm, I’m going to try and get my friend ( Ramona ) to take his now repaired boat down there. Curious if the trees way down Harveys are covered in water, what the level the ...

Your BFS setup!

I have 2 $100 BFS setups SOLOKING BMC100 Baitcasting Reel and a Magic Ultralight Fishing Rod, 2PCS BFS Casting Rod. I can feel bites even with slack line and the reel has held up great with lots of fish some big fish too. Time will tell there longevity.

Re: Your BFS setup!

Thanks to Dannicus, I have ventured into the BFS world. I bought an ARK Gravity BFS reel. At the moment I have 25lb braid paired with a 10lb fluoro leader. I know I could get lighter but want the extra size to fight the bigger models and high catch rates at Barrett, etc.

Like my reel/line, I haven ...

My BFS set ups.

After much research into BFS techniques and equipment I am loving my BFS choices. My reels of choice were chosen partly on budget since I was not sure that I would like this type of fishing. But I do absolutely love this type of fishing on our highly pressured waters. I presently own and would ...

Re: My BFS set ups.

Theres another benefit for BFS fishing also and that is it's easy on the body. I have a bum wrist and I need surgery to fix it. With the reels so smooth and the way I can cast underhand or lobing the bait and it doesnt bother me nearly as much. I still get the distance maybe not as accurate but at ...

Re: BFS jig review

Thanks for the input. It is truly hard to beat the Bitsy Bug. The saddest part of that being that they have been discontinued by Strike King. I guess the rest of the world didn't get the memo on how awesome they are. Get them while you can!
