A browner shade of brown.....

Float tubes are a convenient and affordable way to get on the water, and finally get to those fish that you can't reach from shore. Discuss float tubes, outfitting float tubes for fishing, and float tube fishing.

A browner shade of brown.....

South Bay Saturday.

Followed Gotfish around for a while on the Coronado side.

Managed 13 sbb, a short halibut, and the first one of these that I've got on a ScorcherZ tube bait (green).

And this one was much larger than any of the ones I've got on bait.

She was about 30 inches long.

Wikipedia: "...banded guitarfish, mottled guitarfish, prickly skate or striped guitarfish (Zapteryx exasperata)." I only know 'em as banded guitarfish.

Just big enough to not fit in the net, and she did NOT like it when I tried to tail her.

After a while she got tired enough to be grabbed by the wing and hauled into the tube.

That's awesome. Always great to add a new species to the list.
