Yes! Believe it or not, that really is a Barrett bass. As I understand it, the ranger said that it may well be the lake record.

I fished for 5 hours at Murray today and the lake served up a humongous steaming plate of deep fried skunk. I threw everything, cranks, jerks, topwater, flukes, jigs, worms...literally every type of bait I had, and nary even a nibble.

Report over lol. I'm off to get Tylenol and bourbon.

It was RAAAD! Hoping to do it again next year for sure! Thank you so much for putting it together Chris, and for all the wonderful charity work you do. Awesome fishing and awesome people made for I day I'll always remember for sure.

So I got home and the better half had a pot of chili on. I told her it smelled great and I couldn't wait to try it...as long as there was no skunk in it. She gave me the "are you a moron" look, and I told her I'd eaten enough skunk for one day.

Of course she didn't get it because she doesn't fish ...

I had a similar experience. I got on the water at 8 and didn't get a single bite in 5 hours....go figure. Glad you avoided the skunk though...

Jeremy ( CorsoEnthusiast ) and I are planning to meet at the boat launch early tomorrow morning if anyone wants to join in.

Jeremy wants to try and get some froggy action going, but as for me, well, I'd just settle for rinsing off this week's smelly skunk-stink that back to back Murray trips ...
