An Otay kind of Sunday

Pretty nice day today at Otay. Ended up with an even dozen. Nothing huge, but healthy, fat, little footballs, and a lot of fun none the less.

All fish were caught on a 1/8th oz. Bitsy Bug jig with a green pumpkin Z-Man TRD bugz trailer. I was casting the edge of the tules and dragging it back to 10 ...

How deep is the water at the edge of the tules?
Is the water just green or do you bring gobs of snotty algae back with every drag of the jig?
Thanks in advance.

I wasn't bringing back too much elephant snot but I ...

Best Murray day so far this year!

Monday and Tuesday at Murray were pretty blah. A couple of clones each day, and I had to work hard to get 'em. That changed in a big way today.

I got on the water at 8 am, and decided to head to Alvarado Bay. Deep in the cove the bass were going ape $hit chasing giant schools of shad, and busting ...

Re: Thursday Saturday Murray

You guys were great out there! Every time I looked up I saw one of those cuties hooked up! It put a huge smile on my face seeing them catch fish out there. You should be a very proud Grandpa.

It was such a pleasure fishing with you Dfishin and Jeremy CorsoEnthusiast . Making memories for sure.

From Murray to Hodges 8/22 and 8/23

Went to Otay early on Saturday morning and there were like 100 boats lined up to enter. Some kinda tournament evidently. Since I didn't relish spending the day in a washing machine with bass boats zipping to and fro, so I pivoted and went to Murray instead. I mean I was already up and dressed for ...

Re: From Murray to Hodges 8/22 and 8/23

It was a fun day at Hodges and it is truly remarkable what a great group of people and knowledgable anglers they really are. Nice fishing with you Dan for the first time and I believe I may stock up on those skirted neds.

I love 'em and caught a lot of fish on 'em. (Which is undoubtedly the ...

TOPWATER Finally!

Pictured is the first of six total topwater bass today at Murray. None of them were big, but I am not complaining. Do you know why? Because TOPWATER, that's why!!

Bass were busting everywhere early in the morning. After that slowed down it got tough to get them on anything.

By the way, I passed Vinny @VinnyBass
on the way to Murray yesterday. He was in disguise, but I recognized him instantly for some reason. He said to tell you all hi!

My newish bait @ Otay 3/26

I woke up early this morning with plans on fishing Otay. I poked my head outside, and it was wet and cold, so I almost wimped out.

I'm glad I sucked it up though, because I ended up with a 26 fish day! Granted, most were clones and a few drinks, but catching numerous fish on consecutive casts is ...

Very nice!
BFS is a challenging way to fish anyway, but fishing tules with BFS takes a lot of finesse and a bit of luck to get them out.

Re: Jerks at the Pond

When I was a young man in middle school, and high school, every year for Christmas my parents would renew my subscription to Field and Stream, and Outdoor Life. Í would read them cover to cover, but without question, month in and month out, my favorite part of each magazine were stories on the back ...

Re: El Cap 3/28 And

Exactly why I looooove BFS. 4 of 5 of my rods are legitimately finesse rods with the 5th being the heaviest, and it is a medium/fast. BFS has spoiled me to the point that anything else feels like a broomstick. Besides at this point I've caught numerous fish over 5 and it's about the most fun I've ...

Chris, nobody in their right mind will question your integrity. It sucks you had to take down the video though. Beautiful fish!
