I started largemouth fishing legitimately in 1982. I moved out here from Colorado when I joined the Navy. I grew up a trout kid.
I've been on the grind for 40+ years, but there are some days, like when I get on a killer jig bite, or when a giant explodes on my top water offering that make the grind ...

Re: Great Murray day 3/19
Yeah it was kinda weird, but I'm not complaining. I'm always good when a top water bite is going off!

Re: 3/20- Fished Murray
Not fully recovered from a sore throat, fever and bad cough, I decided to take your advice @Dannicus and get off my lazy sick butt and hit Murray this morning. Thank you for the inspiration I needed. I can't agree with you more on your last Murray report as no bass are
biting and there is ...

Re: Cap the 16th
Not for me it isn't. My knees are still jacked up from getting stuck in it while trying to get out. I'll leave that to you youngsters for the time being haha.CorsoEnthusiast wrote: Wed Mar 18, 2026 1:38 pm The mud is a huge pain to deal with, but it’s worth it right now.

EMAS charity event 3/23
I got the opportunity to fish the second annual EMAS charity event hosted by our very own Chris Brandt, AKA The Beef Shaman, AKA Pourboy at Barrett.
The lake was in great shape, and people were posting the usual awesome Barrett numbers. I only got 30 myself, but I managed to find a larger fish ...

Re: EMAS charity event 3/23
Way to go on the tank pattern Dannicus!! 👏 Was hoping to see you out there but maybe you stayed in Main or Pine? We were in Hauser all day.
Honestly I don't know the areas of the lake well enough to name them, but I was fishing the rocky bluffs on both sides of the main lake just up from pigs ...

Re: Water Level
I personally caught three 5 pounders, and 2 over 6 pounds. Probably half of my 30 fish were over 3 pounds, but that being said, I found an area that seemed to hold big fish and simply stayed on it. Most guys were reporting lots of numbers, but smaller fish, so I guess it's a question of finding the ...

Re: Water Level
I only got 3 top water, but the quality bottom bite was so good that I didn't really stick with the top water too long.

Re: Redemption at Cap 3/27
I can attest, I am part of the twisted knee club, and am now looking at knee replacement surgery this summer.
