He is pretty darn good and played injured last year. The guy can scramble and has quite a passing arm. Can't wait till the season starts.

Re: 8/22- Miramar A.M. Bass Frenzy
Good move going there. Hit El Cap and it was pretty quiet. Six for two of us and all dinks. Even put time in fishing my blade bait vertical.
The best vertical jigging I have done at El Cap was with under spins deep in North end around the trees years ago. Drop to the bottom and
work it close to ...

Re: 8/17-Lake Mur...I mean Miramar
In the summer the bass have no problem chasing down a blade as they are in the shad eating mood. But if you find balls of shad the vertical works too. Traditionally in the winter months at Murray, I vertical jig a spoon and ice jigs in deep water and will be trying to use more blades this year ...

Re: Charger fans?
Yessir! Although not as die hard as I once was. I do remember that 1994 AFC championship win over the Steelers. All week long analyst were already matching up the Steelers vs 49ers in the Super Bowl. I remember going to the stadium to celebrate the win with the Chargers as they arrived back in San ...

8/31- Miramar: One Last Time
With Miramar set to close to boats, kayaks, kayaks after Labor Day, for who knows how long, to work on a big project, I decided to hit it one more time. Water level had dropped since my last trip on the 22nd and when I arrived a guy pulled back too far after his buddy launched his boat and his ...

Re: 8/31- Miramar: One Last Time
Vinny I assume you were yakking…whats your fishfinder setup on your rig?
You assumed right. For years I had a Lowrance Hook2 with a 7" screen until earlier this year.
Right now I have a 9" Lowrance Elite finder. Put a visor on it(BerleyPro Visor) to help with the glare and got active target.
A ...

Re: 8/31- Miramar: One Last Time
Any chance you know what the big project will be? Have not been to Lake Mira Mar in so long.
I do not know all the details but it is a huge underwater pipeline construction project that they say will be completed in 2025.
We will see and hope the fish like the new water that will be entering ...

Re: Lake Murray Mid Week 8/30
I went fishing mid-week at Murray last Wed. (retirement rocks). I caught 6 bucket mouths total all quality bass. 2 were on the flats with a roboworm on a dropshot. All the rest were caught working the edges of tules with jigs and Senkos. All in all, a great day on a lake who's water is finally ...

Re: Lake Murray Mid Week 8/30
Good job, are we able to launch private boats at Murray?
Neil, You can launch a boat as the end of the ramp is about 22 feet in the water. I just am really careful when I put the boat back on the
trailer as there are rocks at the end of the boat ramp. Water is still pretty low. Always remember ...

Re: MURRAY 9/16
Very nice.
That Dimiki blade looks awfully close to the shad that a lot of the bass are still feeding on. On a few recent trips I picked up some bass using reaction baits like blades, spoons, under spins and small jerk bait. Got to go with what looks like they are filling their stomachs up with ...

Just an FYI regarding the launch conditions again....here is a pic when I was putting my boat away on my trailer the other day.
This will give you guys an idea on roughly how close the end of the ramp is. You should be fine unless they ...

Re: These are the moments I fish for..
Sweet! Nice bass!!!
Geez, look at the mouth on that sucker. I bet you are glad you decided to make a couple extra casts. Heck even
a bad day can change instantly when a nice fat one like that gobbles up your worm before you headed home. You must
have been ecstatic getting that bass in safely to ...

Back to Murray 9/11
After Labor Day, Miramar closed to watercraft(bummer...I was having fun up there), so I made a return back to Murray. After a couple trips I found that bass are still feeding on shad and there are some busting fish here and there at random times. I spent 95% of my timejust cruising around looking ...

Re: Still picking away at the "polluted" lake
Funny as now the City says Hodges will be open to paddleboarding and windsurfering starting on Sept 13, which is today.
Maybe the news will say there was a great white shark living in the freshwater and it was taken to Sea World so now the
water at Hodges is safe....ha ha. :-)

9/14- Return to the SD River
After picking up some dinks yesterday at Murray, I decided to try somewhere different this morning. With a slightly cooler weather forecast, I headed down to the San Diego river. Last time I was there was in early June and with no launch or permit fees...I figured what the heck. Not much was going ...

Re: Lake Poway?
Used to fish there all the time years ago......but usually rented a boat(the best days was when you could bring your own trolling motor...ha ha). I Have gone up a handful of times just to mess around from shore but not recently. When I did fish from shore I caught fish over at Jump off point. Most ...

Re: Lake Poway?
From the website it looks like the rental boats have trolling motors...Maybe I'll give Hodges a rest and try it over there. Thanks for the tips.
Yes...they do have trolling motors. I was just reminiscing about when you could bring your own motor and battery and save lots of cash in the old days ...

exciting to catch. In past years, I always looked forward each year to heading up there each Friday with my kayak and having pretty good
fishing results with a ...

Small Murray reaction bass
Just a short update that after some recent trips to Murray.....there are still plenty of small bass reacting to reaction baits.
While it is always nice to catch a healthy bass, it has still been fun trying different baits to catch these little buggers.
At least they are hungry.....ha ha. :-)

Re: Small Murray reaction bass
Yep.....Did not throw it too long, but had one come off on the jump with the A-Rig, but landed that guy.
Will try to throw it more in the winter months down in deep water.
