Re: Padres/Pitch Clock/Affecting batters?

Tonight starts the second half.
If the middle relief steps up, we have a lot of talent.
My hat is off to the ownership , I've watch some terible teams from 1969 on, petco park has brought the team to life.
There's a new vibe, and excitement in the air.

Enjoy

Re: Tip of the day

Of course all of us have lots and lots of tips but one of the tips that just comes to mind is something my father taught me years ago when I was young.
Before each fishing trip, he taught me to always cut about a foot or so off the line and retie whatever you had previously had tied on your line. He ...

Murray AM

Heck, out of all the guys on SDFish, it seems like only a few go bass fishing based on the amount of actual new posts each week.
I know that there are slow times for everyone when you may only catch one or a few small ones, but why not share it. I understand there are some guys who like to keep ...

Re: Padres/Pitch Clock/Affecting batters?

Sorry @VinnyBass but I really like Juan Soto, if you saw movie Money Ball with Brad Pitt he would be the first player they go after. Walks adds to pitchers pitch count which everyone cares about. I think Mike Trout sucks this year because he isn't looking for walks like he use too

It’s funny ...

These are the only 2 LMB I’ve caught since August of last year. Last weekend at Dos Picos. Believe me I would post more if I had more time to fish.

Gotta love it! That. is so cool.

On the Water Again-Murray 7/21

Murray is coming up a few feet a day as I have been over checking it here and there and decided yesterday to give it a go. So this morning I dusted off the cobwebs on my kayak and was just able to launch it from the bottom of the boat ramp at Murray. Still quite a ways off before a boat can launch ...

Re: This One is For VinnyBass

Sweet!!!! Heck yeah!!!
Great report and nice bass in the pic too!
So glad to see you out in the freshwater catching bass and having a darn good day to top it off. Your report makes many fishermen out there want to hit the lake.I fished saltwater for years with my father and one day just decided to ...

Re: Can you reel faster than a bass swims?

I’ve wound down on fish throwing to the bank when they bolt for deep water. More times than I can remember, winding like my life depended on it and couldn’t come tight till the fish was far and deep.

You could not have said it better @Camobass as I have experienced that many times though the ...

Re: Most fun and unusual baits for bass

Crawbaits and rats are kind of normal and you know you bought that crazy Cockatoo bait just for Minnesota...ha ha.
Actually I tried to think of some strange baits or usual baits I have used to catch bass and when I first used a Tokyo rig, it looked strange and never thought it would work until my ...

7/24-Lake Miramar Dink-Fest

With intent to go to Murray for a morning session with my kayak, I found myself suddenly getting on 8 West and then heading up 15 to Lake Miramar.
There was a recent posting on the SD City Lakes website that the lake was going to be closed to boats, kayaks and float tubes after July 4 for a while ...

Re: 7/24-Lake Miramar Dink-Fest

It’s actually a fun lake and the bass are pretty cooperative. Lots and lots of clones. With the bottom having lots of weeds/grass so the lighter the weight, the better you are if you use weights with plastics.
Free lining or wacky rigging a senko helps keep your worm above the weeds better. Of ...

Re: 7/24-Lake Miramar Dink-Fest

Seems typical for Mira Mar. I used to go there a lot, years ago. Always a challenge to find subtle structure in the weeds in the clear water. Usually used 4 lb test, splitshot reapers and finesse worms in Green Weenie to get them to eat. But I digress.

4lb Test @TaBASSco.......wow! I never got ...

Re: Lake Murray

Website shows water gauge levels at Murray as ramp operational. 7/24 Can anyone verify that?

I launched my kayak last Friday there and the bottom of the cement part of the ramp was just under water and I had no problem pulling my kayak just over the rocks on the other side and not scraping ...

Re: Lake Murray

Water level is still low and made launching a little tough. Fishing was tougher. Fished a lot of different depths and flies to catch 2 blue gill. Probable 2 weeks away from being able to use launch ramp.

Re: 7/24-Lake Miramar Dink-Fest

Funny, as I usually love flippin the tulles(based on all my reports over the years with Tokyo rigs) but my flipping sticks have straight braid on them and I guess with the clear water at Miramar I figure the bass would be too smart and see the line. I usually go to Miramar with the intent of just ...

camobass wrote: Wed Jul 26, 2023 1:56 pm I’ve notice several “fishing” posts that seemed to be spam
I am pretty naïve, but how can you tell if posts you have seen seemed to be spam?
I mean the guy posted something and people answered him, so how can you tell? What did you notice on other posts?
Just curious @camobass what to look for.
