Re: 3/28-S.D. River..why not?

JWall wrote: Thu Mar 28, 2024 3:49 pm Its creature city for me tomorrow at El Cap. Jig n craw, fat ika, and a new one, a Yamatanuki.
Of course, I will be doing something on top, or just below the surface to about 3 feet deep. Between us, we have the whole water column covered. :)

Its creature city for me tomorrow at El Cap. Jig n craw, fat ika, and a new one, a Yamatanuki.

What size Yamatanuki? The little 2.5” guys are great on a weedless Ned head and as a Jig trailer. The 3.5” size I think would fish terrific as a backglide like the Ika.

I bought the 2.5’s dark ...

Re: 3/28-S.D. River..why not?

Nice job Vinny.
Thanks BigC.
The best thing about the river is there are no permits to buy. I do not go very often, but imagine each time I go
I am saving money. That saved money can go to buying "cool" new things like the Yamatanuki baits that JWall and
CorsoEnthusiast were talking about. I ...

Murray report 3/28

Most of you know I fish Murray 3-4 days per week. I am retired and I go there after dropping the kids off at school. I fish until it's time to pick them up and head home.

I've been averaging 7 fish per day almost exclusively BFS fishing. The most productive bait has been a tiny green pumpkin Brush ...

Re: Storm Front

I’m back from Lake X. Got on the water at 7 am and started off with a Zman Streakz on an Owner weighted EWG hook. I like those, they have s screw in with center pin spring to attach to the nose of the bait. I got a Bass straight off next to a Tree Stump in 6 feet of water. Then I saw a few swirls ...

Re: El Cap 3-29 Report

Always a lot of fun to fish together. I think they were suspending, confused by the drop in water temp. We saw some fish holding mid range on the finder, but they weren't cooperating. It was a chilly 59F when we got there and only got to 62F when we were leaving.

Re: Murray report 3/28

Hey Dannicus, I'm with you on BFS, but I am willing to throw a double fluke, you take a 3-way swivel and do a dropper on your main line with a shorter terminal line. It's like the umbrella rig for the BFS crowd.

Nice report. We were there last week on Friday and didn't see you.

Some fun on the home lake!

I got to the lake a little before sunrise, under cloudy, chilly conditions. There's still alot of water coming into the lake from the major creeks still, keeping the water temp kind of frosty feeling! I started the day throwing a small jerkbait and quickly hooked up with a couple size challenged ...

Re: Some fun on the home lake!

That is a nice fat bass!
It seems you always find a way to mix it up when you need to and catch bass ...especially with the water
level rising each week and bass finding new areas to explore. More water means that soon I will be up there
to fish my rock pile. I guess you better bring some ...

How much has the lake level come up since the opener?
I'd say about 6'...the ramp is in the water now..with a big sign that says "launch at your own risk".

Re: San V 3/30 Father/ son outing

Topwater in March and Ika's at San V...very interesting! Good job!

It’s really only the last couple of years I have started throwing top water early in the year. I usually bust it out in Feb sometime depending on when I finally start getting fish shallower. I have been surprised more than once ...
