Just for today..... I am going to save you guys from reading me babbling on and on.
So here are a few pics of some fish I caught in (McFish will be shocked again) water depths
around 25-35 feet of water.
Hopefully the warmer weather will spur up more action in closer. Tight lines :-)

Re: Catch & Release and Harvesting During the Spawn
I would like to jump in on this and offer a little info.
I talked to the guys that do the population studies at the lakes. They shock at night when the bass have moved into the shallower water from spending their day in the deep water. The bass float, they scoop, measure, weigh and then release the ...

Hodges report April 10
Hello all,
Got out bright and earlyish to Hodges. Something like 0630. No wind at all and water temp was 62F. Also no blanket of fog on the water, so you could see pretty well. Kind of made me miss the fog. Water was warm enough for me to poke around with the popper, and follow with the spinnerbait ...

El Cap 4/8
Late post but had to share. Had a decent day on the water. Found a new spot today thanks to a generous fellow fisherman in line who was nice enough to show me. Ended up with 9 fish for the day. Had 1 on a spinnerbait first thing in the morning and then switched to a shakeyhead for most of the day ...

Friday on the home lake!
I got to the lake at sunrise, clear skies and a light breeze. Soon I noticed a fog bank crawling over the dam, followed by the wind picking up and in no time the lake was engulfed in fog with a 20' visibility! I'm guessing the lake is up another 8'-10' from 2 weeks ago, another challenge to deal ...

4/15-Murray-Fishing deep session
Had some success in deeper water recently and especially on my last trip to Murray, so I decided to just fish deep and use reaction baits only. Despite the late start(looked like like rain this morning), I ventured out away from the shoreline even though it looked inviting. I searched for shad balls ...

The Cap is producing quality!
I had so much fun at El Cap last week I decided to go back today. I caught 9 really quality fish and 1 dink. All were on BFS gear and tiny jigs or a T-rigged tiny Brush Hog.
I tried throwing a full sized spinnerbait at some of the many busting fish, and some crankbaits too, but no takers on bigger ...

El Cap 4/15
Another successful day on the lake today. Hit up the same spot as last week and the fish were still there but just not as many. Picked off a few there and then ran down the bank a little for a few more. I ended the day with 7 fish and my buddy got 3. Saw a bunch a guys catching schooled bass on ...

Re: 4/15-Murray-Fishing deep session
I just threw that bigger spoon on because I was working deep water for close to three hours and I just figured I’d try it for a while because I had nothing to lose. I really jazzed and lucky when a bass slammed it. When I got another bass on that bigger spoon, I realized that there is another ...

Nice!!
My throttle got stuck on my 2 stroke 250 back in the day heading for a cliff. I had to lay it down.

Re: Biggest Bass of the year so far!! Lake Hodges
Gotta love Sportsman’s! Great calamari and rolled fish tacos. And a good price on the pitcher of suds too!
There are a couple of no-nothing flats at Hodges that held bass back in the full pool days. Spinnerbaits and lipless cranks thrown as far as possible would produce. Without knowing for sure ...

Re: Biggest Bass of the year so far!! Lake Hodges
Featureless flats during the spawn can be epic. You can Chuck and wind lipless cranks without fear of getting hung up. When the bait does a sudden stop, it’s almost always a fish!
