Re: Hodges report March 23
Nice I was there same time and somehow caught about an 8lb carp on a live shiner. That's new for me. Also a catfish and lost count of the bass.

Re: Spring fishing at the fave
I never had issues with ikas and hookups. I use super line wide gap hooks, rigged reverse with skirt in the front and weedless just like T RIG.
I fish them like dads, stitch em. And when the fish are chewing them good, I’ll fish two rods with a loop of line hanging. Most bites are when they are ...

Yep, the backslide rigging is the way. I dunno if there’s a better bait for picking apart a piece of brush.camobass wrote: Mon Mar 25, 2024 4:45 pm I never had issues with ikas and hookups. I use super line wide gap hooks, rigged reverse with skirt in the front and weedless just like T RIG.

Re: Spring fishing at the fave
I do both. I fish them T. Rigged and off center skin hooked to one side, then when the "wear out" i hook them through the skirt on an open hook. I figure they're a free bonus lure at this point

Re: Spring fishing at the fave
Just to add my 2 cents: Everyone has their way of rigging it, but this is the way I used to rig the IKA.
I use a weedless wire hook and a nail weight in the back end. Ready for action

Interesting you nail weight them Vinny. One of the key features is how they sink and they cast far already. I imagine your pitching them in the tules

Re: Lake Hodges: Storm Fishing Plus An Interesting Story
Another great video and I knew your tube setup does everything, it’s even a floating wet bar!! Love the big catch story and how nice getting to relive that day again! So Hodges back in the day was maybe a red lake like Cap is a green lake etc. Like your jig with a hint of red with the pumpkin, I ...

Hodges report March 27
Hello all,
We got out on the water at 0645. The usual Hodges fog was present and water temp was around 61-62 F. I started along the shoreline and picked up a couple sample size bass ( around a pound or so ). Picked around with the popper and got a couple swirls but again no takers. I had a bait I ...

Re: Lake Hodges: Storm Fishing Plus An Interesting Story
I enjoyed that interview, thanks for posting it. To be honest I had no idea that fish was that big from your avatar. I recently started following Double Digit Bass and when I found out it it was 19 and from Miramar, I wanted to hear the story.

Re: 3/28-S.D. River..why not?
I usually just fish a Tokyo Rig with a crawfish trailer or a senko. After losing that bass on a Tokyo Rig with a crawfish trailer, I stuck
to it for a while with no other takers. Then I tried senkos in a few different colors as a trailer, then a 7" Roboworm and back to a

My last trip, the Bass were in 0-2 feet of water and busting my weedless Topwater. What is the general consensus for tomorrow. I imagine the Bass will drop out to the outside edges ...
