Re: 8/27- A Four from Shore
Nice! I just stopped by there around 4:30 and 7 boats trailers in the lot. 4 of the regular spots empty. But I did see busters and couple of bass hanging by the launch in a hole in the grass.
Yeah, there was a lot of boats out there this morning. I look forward hopefully when there’s more ...

A full moon, an Eclipse, and 105 degrees....
I had all the excuses to have a bad day...and the first 3 hours proved me right....and then it didn't! I started out throwing everything that got me 20 fish last trip, and came up with a big zero for 3 hours! I knew there was tons of bait in the water so I set out looking for where the fish might be ...

Why jump on the latest craze? Fish your confidence Baits and fish them hard. Size, Color, and Cadence. Those factors matter.

Lake Hodges Bass Fishing
https://youtu.be/KHFjQsJfB94?si=1yy74A5zLquiOYE2
Hey all!
I've been back to Lake Hodges a couple of times in the last few weeks and man the water is low! Launching is a task since it is only a few inches deep at the launch and that extends way out into the lake (at least that was how it was the ...

Disappearing San V Sunday 9/6
Finally got a chance to get back out on the water so I figured I’d hit up San V before we lose the ability to launch there also. From the top of the ramp to the dock is close to 300yds now. It’s down about 20 vertical feet since I was there in mid July. It’s really sad what the city is letting ...

Re: Lake Miramar Fishing
The good news is the launch ramp is currently in operation. The water is about 83° never really changed throughout the day. We had 8 between us they were all over. They are still chasing bait balls out deep but seem to be dissipating in size. Most came deep in the tulles on punching rigs with ...

Re: Lake Hodges Bass Fishing
UPDATE!!! After I released the video others went back to Hodges and said that the launch conditions are treacherous now! Apparently the boat dock and the rental boats are dry on land and the mud to get to the water is absolutely awful. Be very careful if you go. I had to get rescued from Hodges mud ...

I have had days at Barrett when a soft plastic cast within 1 foot of the bank got bit but the same lure would be ignored 3' from the bank, even in the middle of the day. And I ...

Re: Golf ball lure
So, once when I was at Barrett about 30 years ago when there were tules around the lake, I was in a boat with friends when one of them cast his worm into the tules and got hung up about a foot above the water. He was an easily frustrated kind of guy and started cussing like crazy when he couldn't ...

Went to launch yesturday Ramp Closed for maintanace
I was there yesterday also.
You can still launch kayaks and float tubes.
They Had signs and roped off no boats. I guess you could walk around signs and ropes with a Kayak or float tube. I don't think they would enforce kicking you off ...

Note in the future call 911 and get a sheriff out there however you could get a ticket but, the reality is that they are suppose to make sure that every car is off the property before they lock the gate.

Re: Hodges
I don't know CB super well but I did spend a week with him in MX and he was nothing but chill and generous giving me extra time on the bow when it was his turn to fish in order to finish my grand slam with a snook. Doesn't seem like the kind of guy who would intentionally lock someone in. Maybe if ...

Murray 9/28
There comes a time in the life of every fisherman, when everything that swims, is keyed in on tiny bait, and that's all they'll eat. It's a magical time that I like to refer to as BFS o'clock bay-beeee

Re: 9/30 @ Da Murr
Nice work! I have used Z-Man and Strike King super plastics when C-rigging in grass, usually at Cap or Otay, for several years to keep the bait above the grass. I love the fact that when you drag it, the bait dives down, usually into the grass, and then slowly floats back up. The trick has always ...

San V launch ramp
According the Bruce Smith of the San Diego Bass Fishing Podcast, we will be losing the launch ramp at San V on Oct 25th, if not sooner! I'm sorry but this is some serious BS!! You are cutting off recreational opportunities for, literally, thousands of San Diegans and no one in a position of power ...
