Re: San V launch ramp
As each lake is lowered to the point where almost no lakes are able to launch boats on them....just watch the rates go up on your
water bills. The city will be then generating tons of money. When the City tries to tell us they have to raise the rates they could just
point out how low our reservoirs ...

Re: San V launch ramp
It's disgusting how incompetent our mayor is. This is disgusting. I'm 55 and been fishing these lakes my whole life. I had been saving for a long time and bought a new skeeter for myself for my 50th birthday. 1st hodges closed, then el cap Otay etc. 2 tiny lakes left for every boat too use. Fishing ...

Re: San V launch ramp
Disgusting is just 1 word of many for them. I retired 2 years ago and my dream was to fish. I went to Missouri to get the boat I wanted. Now it sits in my driveway.

Re: San V launch ramp
This is just crazy!
San V was closed for like 2 years as the dam was raised & retrofitted to increase its holding capacity.
The city/county is now at a serious risk if a natural disaster should occur.
Water is the life blood of a city.
The only dam that has been found to be in need of retrofitted ...

Re: San V launch ramp
Toad Gloria is using the water for drinking water. He didn't purchase water this year because the city is broke. Word is he is also selling water to Mexico. At least this is what I heard.
What the city is actually doing is selling the water we would normally receive from the Colorado River to ...

Re: Oregon Brown Trout
That would be like lipping a Calico or Spotted Bay. Too many teeth for my thumb. The fish was wild and full of fight.Carpkiller wrote: Thu Oct 09, 2025 9:37 pm Beauty, eh.
Why didn't you just lip him?

Parker Lake (June Lake Area) 7/1
Parker Lake is a short hike out of the June Lake area, holds browns and brookies for the most part. I did see a few rainbows. It's not stocked regularly so not sure how they are there.

Short? Yeah, but the elevation coming out of the trailhead reminds you if you're not in great shape. Did that two summers, and a cardiac stent ago...Terrific view of Mono Basin looking back down the trail...

Mammoth teaser...first trip of summer
I try to do twenty days a year in the Sierra, splitting them between summer and fall. I normally enjoy the fall trip the most because of less crowds and cooler water temps..plus Crowley fish tend to move shallower in Sept-Oct..! This trip started out fun, hit up Lake Mary, caught some pretty fish ...

Re: Species Angler: SD catfish species and where to find them
@foulhook--the photo posted by @chalon9 is a white catfish. It is the only "bullhead" with a forked tail. Lake Morena has them, Barrett and Lower Otay might due to Morena being upstream and it spills.
@chalon9- just about every lake in SD County has channel catfish as do lakes in RIverside and ...

Bluegill and Greengill
New spot for me, been years since I caught a bluegill. And got my first bluegill x green sunfish hybrids. All on the micro crayfish crank. Numerous decent sized bass around and following, but they weren't interested in biting this thing. I need to work on my bass game. Guess I need to start using ...

El Cap Bluegill
Been a minute since Ive done a report. I'm still fishing almost every week.
Been out to El Cap for the most part of the last 2 months. I've made the commitment to pound the shoreline more this year and it's been fun.
The once Great crappie lake has flipped over to being a Great Bluegill lake.

Re: El Cap Bluegill
Went back again on Saturday. Had another good day out there.
This time around I caught an absolute BULLGILL!
I have to use 4lb test for my slip floats. Any larger lines does not go thru the bobber as well on longer casts.
The 1st fish of the day broke me off. The 5th offering broke me off. The ...

SD River 'Greengills'
Fished a few new holes and creek spots with sinking micro crankbaits. Caught 4 bluegill x green sunfish hybrids and 2 bass. Learning how to make my fish look larger in selfies! Lost 3 crankbaits, and found a lost rod and reel that had previously been submerged. Water levels in some pools have ...
