This week I decided to focus on BFS fishing at my home lake. I fished exclusively light and ultralight gear, and threw micro crankbaits, jerkbaits and an itty bitty spybait. None of the lures were over 2" or 1/8 ounce so yeah...tiny.
I caught a bunch of dinks, one, and two pounders. I also managed ...

Re: 8/4-Pressured Murray
This El Nino is looking similar to the 2015 , which I believe was a disappointment for winter rains! Even if we get big rains, the dams at El Cap, Morena, Hodges , and possibly Otay, will not allow higher water levels..per the State! Even if Sutherland fills up, they will drain it down to San ...

Re: Murray 8/7
Fished it Sunday 8/9 morning and pulled a 3.2# Tilapia on a crank bait. I knew there was a few Tilapias out there but never seen anything like this. This fish was a beast I thought it was a Carp originally.

EC 8/18
Haven't posted in a while, so decided I should contribute. Fishing has been good for me in the back of the lake. The water is shallow and loaded with shad and bass. Depending on the time off day they will be next to shore then move out as it warms up. DS, Fluke, senko and jerk bait. I also have been ...

Re: A little help
If it isn't obvious, I've been fishing out of a float tube for 50 years. My electronics are a Garmin striker 4 which I primarily use for water temp, depth, and structure. I've watched the guys staring at their screens like a video game, and as cool as it looks, I've spent years refining how to ...

Re: Discovery Park monster!
Fun place, congrats.
Sun!? Always long sleeve, gloves, etc.. Too much skin cancers popping up. Heard sunscreen is actually dangerous, too many chemicals, figures. ;/)

Otay 8/26
Had plans of getting to Otay at zero dark thirty but that didn’t quite happen. Got to the lake about 10:00 and got 3 on the free rig. Saw some jumpers back down the arm so I kicked my happy butt down there for what felt like 4 hours and then I was in the biomass of foaming 1-3lbers. At certain ...

8/27- A Four from Shore
With this heat wave I have not been fishing. It is taking a mental toll on me so even with a 93 degree forecast for La Mesa
today, I ventured out to fish from shore for a bit. Late start as I got to Murray at 8:20. The heat came quickly and I tried a number of reaction baits knowing I would not be ...

Re: 8/27- A Four from Shore
Nice! I just stopped by there around 4:30 and 7 boats trailers in the lot. 4 of the regular spots empty. But I did see busters and couple of bass hanging by the launch in a hole in the grass.
