Re: anglers need to hear and understand this...
The population estimates are 95% confidence intervals. So basically, there is a 95% chance the actual population is within the upper and lower bounds of the confidence interval. For example, this last spring we collected and marked 3,437 LMB larger than 12" from Lake Skinner over 4 laps around the ...

Re: anglers need to hear and understand this...
Sometimes we forget that the goal of DFW isn't to produce a few large fish, but rather a sustainable population, they don't care if there are 1 million 1lb bass, they actually prefer that to there being 500,000 2lb bass, because that's 2x as many bass so that's better right? obviously the dynamic ...

San V. 11/14
Went to San V. The water is down to muscles now. Easy to cut your line as I did. I started top water pushed it for as long I can stand it for nothing. Still some busters happening, didn't want to chase them. Fished my normal haunts or I should say the area as my spots are out of the water. Found ...

85° and all is well
Chuck ( 619bassin ) and I hit lake Baccarac in Mexico for the last few days. We had fished the lake together four years ago and had a blast back then.

Perris Skinner
The wife got a couple extra days off this week so we headed up to Menifee, my little aluminum boat trailing us. Tuesday afternoon shift at Perris where I did pretty good in the spring a year ago. Found out it was too early still, the water only got up to 55°. 10° cooler than where I was fishing Otay ...

My newish bait @ Otay 3/26
I woke up early this morning with plans on fishing Otay. I poked my head outside, and it was wet and cold, so I almost wimped out.
I'm glad I sucked it up though, because I ended up with a 26 fish day! Granted, most were clones and a few drinks, but catching numerous fish on consecutive casts is ...

Hodges report April 19
Hello all,
Decent day at Hodges today. Got in line at 515, didn't need to. They opened around 600. Met Corso Enthusiast and we headed out. Air was chilly at about 45-50 F, but the water was a balmy 64 F. Went along the usual chase to the right and banged around the shore. First fish was around 645 ...

Re: 6/26-Murray
If it isn’t Hardwood, it will just wilt and decay on the bottom. However, Hardwood will last a decade. In Louisiana, they pound sharpened PVC pipe into the lake bottom in a grid pattern. All point up, within a few weeks, algae covers the pipes turning them green, and Bluegill and Shad feed on the ...

Fun morning at D&K 7/25
Final count was 13 with three of them over 3 pounds, one over 4 pounds and the best was a 6.2 pounder.
All fish were courtesy of a jig. I tried throwing a walking bait numerous times and had only one bite which came unbuttoned. The topwater action never really got going that I saw.
It was great ...

Re: Days Henshaw is closed
I was just up there Sunday. Good fishing! The water looked very good for Henshaw. I didn't notice much carp activities as well.
I caught some of these.

Trinity Lake
Took a 2,500 mile road trip pulling the trailer to the Castcade Mountains and everywhere in-between. Had a chance to Bass fish Trinity Lake and Clear Lake. We pumped up the Sea Eagle and got out for a few hours.
