Well pretty good opener . 4 to 5 bird average for the group , few less on the second day . Quality was there with Mallards and Teal being the majority birds , few shovelers in the mix as well . Specks were flying but smelled a rat on the few goose decoys we had out but they took a hard look . Fun ...

Hunting buddy has a #39 draw for San Jacinto , Saturday 16th , first draw in several years . Hope it pans out . On the road about midnight for the 03:00 draw selection . Shoot straight stay safe . WR

The older I get the lite ones come out . My favorite 20 is an Italian made SXS cap lock muzzleloader . Petite and throws really good patterns of Bismuth or lead depending on where I hunt . Love it on the upland stuff . Really a different pace in all respects . Have a good one .

I've never had the opportunity to fish it. I always heard how great it once was. I think this is the best video I've seen of that period.

Had a great day at Barrett. Water is only 65, I don't know why it expected it to be warmer. Speaking of temperature, at 0430 it was 36 degrees F in the air. That makes you wide awake even if you weren't while in your warm vehicle.

Here's what happened on Barrett for me today. Got out in the dark, like you are supposed to. First fish at 0540. At that time it's not dark anymore. :)
