I went out with @tubefly on Saturday chasing carp on the fly. We ran into a huge school of crappie about the size of a basketball court that was barely within reach of our fly lines wading up to our waist. Bill got four crappie but didn't take any pics so I don't think they're of any size.

Anyone that takes an Aluminum boat with a bare unpainted hull be sure to wash completely with a good detergent . Copper treated water drills holes in aluminum . Just a thought to keep in mind . WR

It was better for the last two nights, caught probably 30 each night. They are not wide spread yet but crappie nibble plus a right color lure can get them to bite easier. May ... hammering the panfish as usual. Monthly best went 2.28 lb. from San Vicente on a nightcrawler. Also that day, caught lots of bass up to 3 lb and a dozen other nice bluegill fishing live bait in a cove area near brush. I often find the bite picks up late in the day.
