Salad was ungodly, yet again. Went around low tide 7-8
pm. Water temp is still wonderful, but with that comes a bunch of swimmers/surfers and, recently at least, snorkelers.
Anyway, fishing was pretty good. In those about 1.5 hours each day for those 2 days, we got 3 croaker, 1 sargo, a couple short bass, little round stingrays, and a couple leopard sharks. the largest was 34 inches and hung up on some seaweed, which made it feel very heavy.

Thanks for the report. That looks like a decent sized bass in the last pic. Good variety you pulled in.
Kelp/grass still that bad?
Was out last week and saw two large kelp patties slowly making their way to the surf - I gave up before they arrived.

yessir, there was a lot of feather boa kelp and surf grass in the water. we were out there at low tide so there was a lot of the seaweed on shore as well. that bass was probably 16 inches; didn’t want to fiddle with the tape measure since it was darkold_rookie wrote: Mon Aug 07, 2023 2:33 pm Thanks for the report.
