Keep Mikey in your thoughts

I haven't seen it mentioned here yet, but I'm sure most of us are familiar with Mikey Rijavec, either from his sdfishandsips YT videos, or just running into him at the beaches or launches. Many of you may know he's been missing in Baja after sending out a mayday call from his Solo Skiff. Now, his skiff has been found, missing the motor, his belongings, and himself. Information is still very hard to be found, other than the same search information that has been posted elsewhere. I had the pleasure of meeting him a couple of times, once with my son when we went to a grunion run that we found out about from one of his videos. He could not be a more kind and humble man, with an unmatched passion for all things sportfishing. He is just a truly good human being, and it is heartbreaking what is happening. I'm not too prideful to admit I've cried, but I'm still staying hopeful and optimistic that he will be found safe. It seems to be a huge search for him involving multiple government agencies and even citizens of the towns he frequented in Baja. Thoughts and prayers gets thrown around a lot, but I think we all need to be thinking and praying for his safe rescue and return, and for his family. Get home safe, Mikey, we are all here for you.

Yes anyone who’s met Mikey before or watched his video’s, he’s truly one of a kind very nice guy who loved fishing and shared his passion!

“Good morning good morning everyone, this is your buddy Mikey here” was his greeting on his video’s.

His oldest brother has put up a GoFund account to help with the expenses incurred for his search, they were looking for only $6,500 to pay for private boaters, pilots, locals etc and it’s mushroomed. He prefers not to be Venmo or Zelle as any refunds is easier to be refunded back thru GoFund.
