Otay Sun 4/27
Decided to visit Otay this morning. Got on the water about 615, immediately worked my way to the tules and began flipping the edges with no sinker rig plastics and quickly broke the skunk. Got another one just a couple of casts later as the rain started to come down. I fished that spot for 25 more minutes and kicked over to spot #2. I had a hunch to make a color change, and it paid off, almost immediately I found the fish, stayed in that spot almost the rest of the morning, got 9 in that spot and lost 4, including a nice one that wrapped me in a tree. On my way back to where I launched, I stopped in the first spot again and managed to get a couple of cruisers on a jerkbait. By 11 the wind had picked up significantly and I decided to call it a morning. 13 caught, 4 lost. Clones up to about 2.5lbs.

Sounds like another epic Otay Sunday! You really have that flylining worm in the tules technique dialed in brother! Great job out there!

Way to go get them. Thanks for sharing. Water looks pretty clear. Has the frog bite started there yet?

Didn’t see any busters out there in the part of the lake I was fishing but I suspect the frog will get bit down there.KillinTime wrote: Mon Apr 28, 2025 12:26 pm Way to go get them. Thanks for sharing. Water looks pretty clear. Has the frog bite started there yet?

Re: Otay Sun 4/27
nice job out there! I was there on Saturday and got most my fish shallow on the free rig and neko. only 1 bite on a jerkbait but it was a double with a 2lber and a 0.5lber lol so I guess it was 2 bites?
