Murray: Has not been exciting

Post by VinnyBass »

Well, I have not posted for a while and saved you guys from reading long drawn out(blah, blah, blah)posts from recent trips
to Lake Murray. Heck, some of you probably enjoyed not seeing my mug, and have to admit if I was not me, I would be saying...oh,
here we go again with another long Vinny post...ha ha. Anyway I have not been fishing much but wanted to give a consolidated fish report from my 4 recent trips to Lake Murray. Dinks, dinks and micro bass sums it up. I fish year round and when the weather cools, I change my tactics and usually with a little luck can once in a while pull in a healthy bass here and there out from the deeper water.
I have tried so many baits that have worked for decades in the past and it has been very humbling as I cannot even get a bass close to 2 lbs. One of my only highlights is seeing and chatting with @Dannicus and comparing notes. I am very stubborn and have not got into the BFS system, but from personal observation (via watching Dan), the bass enjoy those little baits he is tossing.
Tight lines buddy and hope others have better luck than me out there.
I am giving myself this icon  for whining in this report.

Any bass fisherman out there knows what I am really thinking behind the smile...ha ha

For me Vinny it's been hit or miss lately at Murray. Thursday I caught 7 clones as we discussed. Yesterday I threw the same lures in the same places and caught 3 drinks in 4 hours. Go figure.

it was actually nice out early then the wind picked up and I about froze my eggs off lol. Anyway it was good seeing you out there and chatting. It's always a pleasure :)

Now that made me look forward to something and hopefully some big fish right around the corner for all of us. :-)

Supposed to be colder temps and rain coming in Feb and March. Hopefully that means a little more water too.
