11/21-Return to Murray.....

Post by VinnyBass »

Have not been fishing for a while and kept debating should I go or should I not.....I finally decided to head over to Murray. It took a
bit as I did not even get on the water till about 9:15. I was surprised I did not have to show a valid ID to prove that it is actually me at
Murray going out to fish...ha ha.
Of course I wasted time trying to find schools of shad with bass around them and it was pretty crazy as I covered a lot of area and
pretty much was getting a headache staring at the finder hoping for something. I finally gave up and started to toss a few under spins
and a few jerkbaits closer to shore and even flipped a patch of tulles with a Tokyo rig, but the water seemed really shallow and no
takers. Geez, its too bad the water level has never gone back to what it was the other year where you could pitch back in deeper
water into the tulles.
Anyway, I tossed a small craw bait and after working it in and out of the grass, it got banged and I pulled in a healthy 3 lb'er. I later
went back near the same area and pulled in another bass on a jig with a crawfish trailer. I was planning to leave and Dave, a regular
at Murray and a very good bass fisherman came by to say hi and see how things were. Of course me blabbing away and not paying
attention I finally realized a bass was moving out to deeper water with my worm. I pulled back and he broke me off on at the cement
structure on the bottom. Dang! Not the first bass that I have lost on that dang structure. Oh well....2 for 3 is not bad seeing that I
did not have any other bites.

On a morning with Santa Ana wind warnings(and blowing hard in Ramona I was told by one of two reliable sources)
....it actually was not bad.

Nice fish buddy! Your craw bait works better than my craw bait.

Thank you McFish for helping convince me to not stay at home and go over to Murray. After hearing about the winds up in Ramona, I was a little apprehensive. When I told you it was pretty calm down here and you asked…why are you not at Murray? ….. I thought… hey why not and quickly hooked up my boat and headed to Murray.
Now, don’t tell me to jump off a bridge or rob a bank OK? :-)

Hmmm...kind of like that bank robbing idea...split 50/50??

Just PM me, but I was thinking 60/40 because of my Tackle Warehouse addiction.
