San V Leap Day, steady but slow

Post by Moose »

I realize that may sound like a contradiction but it pretty much describes my day. Fishing was actually better on Monday, at least for me. I ended up with a Bakers Dozen but there was no size to them and I struggled for bites.

I would get a fish or two off a spot and it would die. I ended up making a milk run of about 5 spots. Almost all of my bites came almost as soon as the bait hit the bottom on a long cast. I think I got 3 or 4 bites while actually working my bait. The rest I would lift up and they would already have the bait. Got me one little humpbacked guy as well.

VinnyBass, I tried like hell to get a bite on the damn Tokyo Rig but to no avail 🤷🏻‍♂️ I won’t give up on it though, I do like how it fishes when flipped into the bushes.

Good job. It was definitely a tougher bite out there today. My boat ended with 5 by 1pm. Threw the kitchen sink at em today but all they wanted from us was the finesse rigs. I will say the rise in water has really thrown me off and the algae is pretty bad in spots. Not sure how it will affect the lake once the weather gets warmer but we will see. I did see some small bursts of busters back in Kimble but they did not want any of our offerings

Is your boat an aluminum Lund?

The Algae got really bad in the afternoon. Had some busters come up in Tollroad and had one miss my fluke. That was the only shot I had.
