Little staycation
Stayed at Paradise Point for my GF’s birthday weekend. Got a nice room on the north cove and saw some of the crazy tide swings. Of course I had to bring my gear, luckily she is very understanding of my obsession
. Between outings and “ahem”’ other activities, I had morning, afternoon, and night sessions. I knew from the forums that north cove is so-so but man, I probably walked 2 miles of shoreline, casting everything I had, and even soaking fresh scallops exposed by the low tide for nada all weekend. I couldn’t even buy a bite. Not even any rays wanted to slurp up my baits. No big deal, still had an amazing weekend and the porterhouse for 2 at Ruth’s Chris hit the spot. Luckily I’m too poor to own a house here so I didn’t have to take out a loan or second mortgage for dinner. Here are some pics of high and low tides from our front patio, and since no fish, a little carne carnage

Had to laugh. My boss gave me a GC for Ruth Chris last year for $50.00. I’m not sure if he knows that will get me a baked potato and an iced tea over there

Hahaha you’re not wrong galen! My gf’s coworker gave her a $50 gift card and she jokingly said she was gonna bring it just in case
. I kept it a surprise where we were going so we did use it! Every little bit helps these days!

Re: Little staycation
The resort grounds are really beautiful, especially at night. It’s all very tropical and well maintained. Pricey though as to be expected. We had a bayside bungalow I believe, on north cove. Separate living and bedroom, small kitchenette with keurig, microwave, small fridge and freezer. Around $900 for 2 days but we did upgrade to that room and it was $150 more per night. It is a public access beach and walking path but we hardly saw anyone. It is the off season too so it wasn’t as busy. I wouldn’t eat at Tidal though,I got food poisoning from the mussel app last November
