San V....warming up

Post by Mcfish »

I thought it's almost July...didn't feel like it at 5:00 this morning! I woke up to 47 degrees...it should be more like 60 this time of year! The fish didn't seem too happy either! The first 3 hours were cold and foggy and the fish weren't having what I was throwing! Then the sun came out and the fish wanted to play! I ended up with 13 fish, missed a few bites, and once again..broke off 2 nice fish to end the day at 1:30! Most of my fish were in 15'-17' of water, avoiding the shallow water dinks. The water temp was 74-75, and the air finally got up to a toasty 83. The lake level is still going up, almost to where it was a couple years ago. You can tell it's summer..fishing etiquette is out the window!

Hey @McFish…..Sorry to hear how many times you post stories recently that somehow disappear. I hope you don’t think I had anything to do with it. I enjoy your reading your posts and glad this one appeared. Always fun to see your fishing adventures especially on “McFish Monday’s.” Nice job out and maybe a good sign as it looks the warm weather is here to stay hopefully.
Tight lines always buddy :-)

It's probably good that a couple posts disappear...I shorten them each time I rewrite them!

If one of my posts disappeared 3-4 times in a row and I shortened it each time.....it would still be long. Just saying...... :-)

Looked for you out there yesterday. Didn't find you. Same thing for me...foggy, cool in the morning and no bites. Caught my 1st one at 10:41 and the second one at 11:25...both on my black frog. Missed to blowups and missed a hook set on a drop shot in the Toll Road Arm. Left the lake at noon.

You are becoming quite the frog-master! I thought I saw you a couple times..but I guess everyone that has your color boat... are not you! I never made it to Toll road, spent alot of time in the back of the lake and finished up in my normal spot!

I hit the North end 1st thing in the morning and the Kimball arm. Then hit the north shore of the island. Then the Toll Road, finished off by the
Aqueduct. Love the reaction on the frog. Tried popper, drop shot, weightless Senko, fluke....only bit the frog for me, though. Maybe I'll
see you next Monday out there.
