Mission Beach 3/2/2026
Fished 0630 - 0830 with the 1/2 oz kastmaster near Tower 15. Hooked and lost a couple of fish. Wave energy was constant and salad was moderate. Skunk city. Saw at least 8 others trying, hope they had better luck. May try a revenge session later in the day.

Bummer. Nice weather though! I played nine holes of golf this morning, trying to enjoy the last of our early sunrises before the clocks adjust. Granted, in another month or so we'll be back to earlier daylight and in just another few months we'll have really long days. But still - a couple weeks of minor inconveniences with our weather is hard to deal with

Joe, we have not met but im in mission quite often. Perch killer Bill told me about you. We caught 10 yesterday using Gulp sand worms(long ones). A few of them were approaching 11". I was at T-12 or where it used to be. I'm hoping we have wide open conditions here shortly.

Nice!! I was not able to find the time yesterday and told myself it was OK because the morning conditions didn't look ideal, but the swells looked nice and calm despite the early morning high tides. I would've been out there if I could've. Surely we will cross paths at some point in the next few months! I find myself at various spots up and down Mission Beach these days based on gut feeling, ha. I like the (slight) change of scenery at times. Also, time of day and likelihood of available parking have a role in the decision of where to set up. All sorts of conditions to factor in when fishing MB without even considering what's happening in the ocean itselfJusbigguns wrote: Mon Mar 02, 2026 12:51 pm Joe, we have not met but im in mission quite often.
