Just spent the last 2 weeks fishing at Silverstrand and Camp Pendleton(Del Mar Beach). The water was cold at both places 57.3. Was a Perch fest and I was using Honey Badger baits in motor oil. I leave Monday for San Elijo SB for 4 days and hopefully i run into something other then Perch. Eventually ...

Fished the incoming tide this morning using my new rod. Lots of Salad in the water for the big skunk. Momma said theyll be days like this.

Those guys were using 3 OZ. I fish Max 3/4 oz. My 10' Trifecta Lite isnt designed to cast more then 3/4 oz. Feel free to PM if you want some more advice on how to be a slayer.

Changed places and hit up silverstrand SB. Got there at 7am extreme low tide. Was throwing a Honeybadger 2.2" swim bait in motor oil and moderate salad. About 8 i got nailed and it broke in my 10' trifecta lite. Was a Bat Ray and i fought that beast for 20 minutes before i used the early release ...

Not me, I'm using bloodwoorms. Expensive but effective.

I'm a surf fisherman, Alot different then these guys though. My fish that i catch (Perch,Croaker,Corbina)are in Knee deep water. 1/2 Oz weight and a #2 hook. If i catch rays and sharks i'm too deep. Nothing better then hooked up to a spotfin with a Trifecta lite ML. 6# line.

I too was @ MB by where tower 12 used to be. I was on fire for an hour dead sticking the Swim Baits. The Tug is my Drug. Fun Day.

Joe, we have not met but im in mission quite often. Perch killer Bill told me about you. We caught 10 yesterday using Gulp sand worms(long ones). A few of them were approaching 11". I was at T-12 or where it used to be. I'm hoping we have wide open conditions here shortly.

$20 buy in open to anybody. Any legal means to fish. Bait is also legal. I have fun meeting people from all over the coast. Larry sets the tournament up and he runs a great show. My Partner caught the Halibut.

Half of the Anglers didn't catch anything. It was slow although great looking water. The Raffle is great and its really a fun tournament. Good People just creating memories.

Bill went yesterday at MB. Caught 1 8" perch but that was it. I did see a 24" Corbina Frolicking in the surf. Was right in front of me for 2 minutes. Mike got 2 but things were slow. Over by T12
