9/12-SD River
Headed back to the river for a little dirty water fishing as one day I expect to catch a 3-eyed bass similar to the one that aired on a Simpsons episode...ha ha
Not long after that I was working a craw bait and landed a nice bass deep in the tulles which was a fun fight trying to get that bass in. It was like any second I felt it would come off. With all the stickups(like branches and other debris in the river) the bass have really worked them to their advantage because they move quickly through the underwater jungle so you are not getting a direct line hooks to the bass.
Sadly, I lost a number of bass that came unbuttoned or missed on the hook set, and one was at least 5 lbs as it came out of the water but quickly went deep in some underwater branches and poof she was gone. Despite the mis-cues on 5 or 6 bass, I landed 7 bass today using a crank bait, a plastic worm and craw baits. Most were not that big, but did get a couple healthy ones.
Just a few pics.......
Crankbait bass were small(example) Gotta love Craw baits This was a long bass...ha ha
Anyway I landed a dink on a crank bait and later I was reeling in another bass and during the process, one of my rods somehow flipped over the side. I unhooked the bass quickly and now it was try to find my rod. I was bummed for a bit and then used a small A Rig and was finally able to hook on to it and my frown turned into a smile.

I keep thinking about the ones I lost, but still had a fun time for what it’s worth.

I think it’s just one of those Kevin Van Dam crank baits that they sell at Walmart.KillinTime wrote: Fri Sep 12, 2025 9:14 pm They all look healthy. Good stuff.

Not a king....ha ha.... as my actions when myDannicus wrote: Fri Sep 12, 2025 11:23 pm Vinny showing once again that he is king of the river! Great job brother!
rod went over the side were more like a little girl throwing a small tantrum. Getting the rod back put me in a better mental state and realized how lucky I was to get the rod and catch some bass after that.

and I realize how long ago it was when I first started using them. And then how long they sat idle, never touching the water for years and suddenly they’re back in the water catching bass. Ha ha

Re: 9/12-SD River
As well as Vinny knows the River... I'm thinkin he "lives down by the River". Hey, isn't that the crankbait they sell at 7/11, next to the Slurpees...

I apologize for posting this again, but it is for those who did not see this the first time....here is a pic of @Mcfish at the river near his summer home before he shaved his beard. He told me he had a pet mouse as a friend that lived in his beard, but he left so he shaved it off.
