Barrett is such a great fishery that its ideal for learning new or polishing up unused presentations. That’s certainly been the case for our boat in 2025 with jig n craws so we decided after watching young legend Theo drop shotting with success and DFishin also amassing numbers doing similar, to also give it a go today. Its not that we haven’t drop shotted in the past or don’t know of its relative success, its just not our Old School usual rigging.
Lets just say bass camp was open for business. From the first cast with it and for the majority of the day we caught great numbers DS’ing 4.5” margarita mutilator and bold bluegill robo’s. That latter color was hot last year at Big B for pro kayaker Jeanette Graunke and after running low on the mm’s I decided to give them a go. The lime green stripe really jumped out and got bit. Check out the pic with it hangin.
All in all a solid bite today with all my pretied rigs contributing, including the aforementioned jigs, the minnow, and a larger reaper thrown weightless over the muck.

Missed you out there today. Where were you? Those rocks behind you look familiar as mid-Hauser rocks. But maybe they are just rocks.

You are correct, mid Hauser. We pulled a brain fart tho and left our cooler on the dock in the dark and when we realized it we retrieved then stayed in the main lake for the balance of our short day.Early release wrote: Sat Aug 30, 2025 5:30 pm Missed you out there today. Nice work! It is worth changing things up. I sometimes will catch a fish with 1 rod then switch and so on. If I find 1 isn't working like the rest I stop using it, until I find my best producer. I think I forgot to mention using a jig in my report. Main lake has been good for me.
