Mission and Pacific Beaches 7/9

Post by Perch killer »

Had a few leftover bloodworms getting ripe in the frig so headed out to MB this AM. Conditions not ideal, strong surge, somewhat dirty water & lot of salad. If not bit within 3-4 minutes, line loaded up with grass. Not that I was getting any bites, nary a nibble. After an hour decided to head up to PB and set up by the LG station just south of pier. Little less current, cleaner water & lighter amount of grass to contend with but still not even a nibble for almost an hour. Was just about to pack it in around 8 when got a perch bite. Re-loaded with 2 piggy backed crabs and on next cast felt like some faint nibbling with a fish massaging my bait in its mouth and then tension in the line, set the hook. Line peeling and brought a nice 18" spotfin up on to the sand. All my fish unless bleeding out are photo & release. Sorry Butch this one didn't have your #8 in it's lip but he'll be waiting for you ! LOL.
