Well...off I went for my annual (most years there are 2 of them) trip to Barrett. This time I was alone and trying my 2nd ever outing on the float tube. BLUF: I don't think I will do it again...
But...I did catch some fish...nothing big, a couple close to 3 lbs and a few dinks, but most were classic size...first one showing the most productive bait of the day...I threw several jig combos some top water stuff (frog, sexy dog, whopper plopper) with no luck and lost of different soft plastic combos...by 18 of my 23 came on this:
couple more examples...
and one with my ugly mug...do I look as exhausted as I was???
and lastly...an example of one from shore after I put the tube away...
Poor guy lives too close to the launch...his whole face was full of holes...anyone else remember catching him???
clever sign-off phrase

Looks like you got some, nice work. I tubed out there once. Never again without a motor or a taxi arrangement. Got caught downwind a ways and almost killed myself kicking back lol.

I think that is what killed me too, everywhere I went I was fighting the wind...it makes me appreciate how awesome it is to go out in a boat, especially if someone else runs the motor all day!JWall wrote: Tue Jun 24, 2025 9:29 am Looks like you got some, nice work.
