...and far, far away, I ventured up to the Lake of D & K. @Fisheromen and @Mcfish were already therehaving the advantage living in Ramona and a hop skip and jump from the lake. Picked up just a couple on top with a few others found freedom tossing the hook while those guys were having a lot of action on the surface. In fact many, many bass found ways to get off my baits which continued through the morning. Basically things went like this....Geez(not the real word I said) I just missed another bass to dang(not the real word I said I am snagged again! I guess that is part of fishing in sunken trees and huge rocks but this morning besides losing fish and missing bites, I must
have set a record on how many times I got snagged. It was crazy but that is where the fish are, but lost so many tungsten weights that my kayak seemed lighter on the route back to my truck when I was going home.
Ok...I am sounding like a negative Nancy, as I did land 14 bass, but there are times when all you think about is how many you did not catch. Even McFish lost a number of nice fish and again that is all apart of bass fishing. In one area both of us lost a number of bass....he lost more, but also caught more than me...ha ha. Anyway,he can tell you his story.
Of course one of the highlights of fishing D & K is chattingt and kidding around with @Fisheromen and @Mcfish. They always keep me entertained and are great guys and I realize I should be thankful for the bass I caught and not about the bass and tackle I lost.
Just a few pics
lots of smaller ones...
especially like this...ha ha

Re: 6/27- Over the hills......
Love to hear these reports from one of my favorite old stomping (and splashing) grounds. The picture of the bass with a hand poured worm hanging out of its mouth reminds me of how LM bassl-ess it is up here and how no tackle shops actually carry any types of plastic worms up here.

Never butt heads with buttheads.

Enjoyed your post, sounds like a fun day.
Can you launch a boat it’s two years since I’ve fished there and last time it was a little tricky launching?
New hat hey, I like it now we know you’re not recycling pictures. HaHa

Vito I don’t fish on the weekends there but I know many people have gone up there and been fishing out of their boats so I imagine it’s not a problem to launch.I heard through the years. It has been tricky, but I haven’t heard anything lately. Maybe someone else out there has launched a boat on the weekend recently.vito1023 wrote: Sat Jun 28, 2025 6:05 am Enjoyed your post, sounds like a fun day.

Regarding my hat:
I have about 7 Ranger Boats hats in the garage, a couple Power Pro hats, and lots of Bass Pro shop hats etc. 98% of the time I’ll probably wear a Ranger Boats hat but randomly try to mix it up once in a while.
And about recycling photos:
“Vinny doesn’t play that game”
If you do go up and launch your boat tight lines to you.

Vinnybass quotes of the day: "watch me, I'll get hung up again"! "I'm hung up, how does that happen"! "Big fish, Big fish..maybe 6lbs..OK, 2lbs! "How can I get hung up every cast"? "I can't believe you're getting fish on that stupid little spoon"! " I'm right in your way where you want to cast"? "Just one more fish..forget it, I'm going home....one more cast"!

That fish I thought was a 6lb'er was digging into tree branches and felt bigger and was at least 2.5lbs ha ha.Mcfish wrote: Sat Jun 28, 2025 8:48 am Vinnybass quotes of the day: "watch me, I'll get hung up again"! You forgot to mention how you kept hovering over where I wanted to cast so I gave you a little friendly warning when I bounced my crawbait off your float tube that did a straight up leap the air like a circus act and landed right in front of your tube. The main highlight there was the "boing!" sound it made. Wish I had a video of that...
