Seaguar fluro

Post by falafeluver »

I see that Turner’s has the Seaguar fluro carbon on sale. I use them for all my salt water trips but anyone use them for freshwater?

I’ve been using P-Line for years but would like to try Seaguar.

I’m thinking of getting either 8#-10# string but between the different types which is “better” for Barrett?

Yea I know it’s a loaded question.

Been using Seaguar Abraxis 12lb there and it gets bit. The only knock I have is it shreds a bit around rocks but I think all fluoro does that.

Yes seaguar fluro is the best in my opinion . Bass fishing I only use the gold label and particularly the 12 pound . Love the stuff all the rods I bring except 1 I use the 15 pound fluorocarbon . All my rods have 20lb power pro green moss and I use a uni knot to tie braid to fluorocarbon around a 2 foot leader . I don't use any spinny reals only bait casters . Don't do much finesse fishing at Barrett.

seaguar fluro it's a good line, but I use P line. It is a little softer then P line and breaks and frays easier also. I have tested for breaking strength and knot strength. P line was better in my testing. It's up to you.

If you're going braid to leader you can use your standard blue label / gold label / etc no problem.

If fishing straight fluorocarbon I really like Sunline Sniper FC & Shooter FC (although its $$). Sniper is great all around FC, I fish 12 / 16 / 20. If you're not shy to drop some dough, Shooter FC is the deal. It has very little stretch, super abraison resistant, but not as supple as Sniper. I fish Shooter 16 / 18 for flippin and buzzbaits / spinnerbaits around cover.

See-garbage. Top three are Sunline, Sunline, and… Abraz-x? If you look at it wrong it gets nicked up. I’ve flipped the river with 20lb Sunline structure fc for hours, boat flipping big ones as well, and every time I’d run my hand up the line thinking it’s gotta be time to re-tie, it was as smooth as it started. Sniper for the W
