Opener
I was at the gate at 3:30 and was in line outside the gate. I was at the water ready to launch and decided to make some casts. 10 fish before I left on the tube. I was there from open to close caught a lot, lost a lot (need to find what hook is best for elaztech baits). There were the blue gill and last years spawn all over. I didn't count them. I was just under 100, I tried hard to get those last 4 landed. No top water for me all plastics and jigs.

Re: Opener
Plastics and jigs were the magic ticket for sure. It was just so much fun to have the topwater work this early. I like your first photo showing the flotilla of kayaks heading out. Kind of photo you put on a wall as artwork, I'd think.

Re: Opener
That 1st pic is awesome.
Elaztech baits and I have a love hate relationship.
My Pros; They last for so long and have good buoyancy when you want a slower rate of fall.
My Cons; Hard to rig, and they don't play nice with other plastics and silicone. So you have to keep them away for all your other soft baits and skirts.
