4/25- Over the hills and far away

Post by VinnyBass »

Well, I did go over some hills and the lake is far away as compared to how close Murray is to me. Anyway, headed up to Donald and
Kiefer's lake where McFish and Fisheromen were already out on the water. I quickly headed over to work an area where McFish was
and it seemed within no time he had a limit on 5 bites. I got one and then started experimenting too much with different things.
After a while of constantly hearing McFish say "oh yeah!" on every fish he caught, I switched over to more productive baits approved
by McFish and started catching more bass. It was a cold day on the lake and despite me complaining about it often, I ended up catching
15 bass with many of them being clones. I know I talk a lot, but down the road I need to bring earplugs to drown out McFish saying
"oh yeah!" all day..ha ha. I have to give him props as he had a dang good day pulling in 30 bass I believe.

Just a few pics..
Just about to laugh after telling McFish this one goes at least 3 1/2lbs...ha ha

Fun day today, glad you could make it up! Today was one of those days where everything lined up for me! It's been awhile since I had a 30 fish day..they sure are fun! The pattern was the opposite of what it was 2 weeks ago, you never know! Next time you come up, I'm giving you a sedative...you work a plastic worm like you're in the Daytona 500! Hahaha!

I think I start getting worn out and work things slower around 11 o’clock because it seems that everywhere I fish I seem to start catching more fish from that point on. But still bring a sedative….as it may help. :-)

I just got a mental image of Vinny with a guitar shaped fishing pole throwing plastic worms while under the influence of qualudes and weed. It didn't work. He still fished fast, and although slurred, the words still poured out. ;)

Love ya Vinny

Hey Vinnie great job 15 fish is a great day to me.
I was looking at your pictures and noticed your worm and could you share how it’s tied on it looks like a clip of some sort?

McFish tells me to never give away secrets, but will never probably ever see this.....
It is a Roboworm. The color is called Plum Berry. It worked a few times last year, then did not work at all.I put one on after trying some other color worms and caught some bass. No guarantees as bass are hard to figure out at times and that is why I change baits often. I think if I just stayed with one or two colors and fished them often enough I would have the same results...ha ha. :-)
Tight lines Vito

I think it's just Texas rigged...looks different because he uses a 12/0 hook....in case he runs into a shark....

Sorry, I did not answer your question as I just thought you wanted to know the color of the worm. I need to slow down
when I read things also...ha ha
It is just a Texas rigged worm and I use a sinker stop(that little black bead on the line) at times on the line.
Actually about 90% of the time I never use the sinker stop and I just Texas rig the worms.
IMG_9841-1.jpg
Just in case I want to throw a craw bait, I then might put a little sinker stop on up right against
the sliding weight.

IMG_9843.jpg
Here is one of the rigs @Mcfish throws very rarely when he goes up to a 6" worm..ha ha
IMG_9842.jpg
Just kidding about that one Vito! :-)

Yes he is a relic, and the guitar is old too.
